February 2015 | 15 on 15

I decided to participate in the 15 on 15 as seen on Annette Harrings page.  So here it for February 15th, 2015

Mathew was away at work this particular day, so we spent the morning chilling out and then headed to the beach.  I had heard of some sunflowers in the area... so naturally its photo time!

HAPPY 2015

Happy 2015!

Gosh I love this photo of my little mungers...  anyway back to 2015.

This will be an interesting year with Max doing Prep again (or Prep take #2) as Ill call it.  I dont think he fully understand whats happening but is just happy to go back to school.  Everyday they ask me if they can go  back to school.

We all just got back from our annual Christmas holiday.  We usually do the Gold Coast but decided to venture up north and explore.  I have to say that it was so hot - like crazy hot!

We explored a bit but the fact we had to drive the windiest road to get anywhere kind of put a stop to us going anyway.  Harps still has the worst car sickness ever.  Even after leaving to head home, she was sick within 5 minutes - poor little thing.

The kids basically lived in the pool the whole time.  It was such a gorgeous private pool yard with the coolest red palm trees.

Quick visit to Cairns to the local 'Sugarland Water Park'  which was THE. BEST.  Harper went on her very first waterslide after

We spent a few of the last days in Townsville which was awesome.  We walked to the local Aquarium which the kids absolutely loved and Max even walked out with some Shark teeth.  I wouldnt mind coming back to stay for longer to check it out more.

Love this sweet moment.  I overheard Max telling Harper a bedtime story about Dragons to help her get to sleep.

Max Daly | Age 5 (but wishes he was 6)

I often feel bad that I don't take many photos of Maxie but he is not a huge fan of the camera.  I have 1000s of Harper so when I get that perfect photo, it makes me happy.  Especially one that captures his awesome smile.

We had to pick up my mum from the airport and were running a little early, so what do you do?  Find the nearest ally and take some photos!  These were with my new iPhone 6 Plus but I wish I had my good camera.  Max was actually letting me take photos and I love how they turned out.  I think part of the reason was because he loves that shirt - he thinks it hilarious there's a mustache riding a bike LOL

5 things about Max Daly
(this is what he is called most of the time, not just Max but Max Daly for some reason lol)

1.  You are currently learning about the solar system at school but you are just loving it.  As soon as you get in the car, you are quizzing us on everything to do with  planets.

2.  We have enrolled you in a new school as you are doing a 'refresher' in Prep.  I know you will be brave and can handle the challenge.

3.  Your favourite thing at the moment is red iceblocks.  You could eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner - if you were allowed

4.  You ask me everyday if we can go to movieworld.  Literally every.single.day.

5.  You are an awesome son & big brother to Harps.  We love you so much and make us prouder  more and more each day.

goals for july

I have had many sleepless nights lately trying to think of all the things I want to do & how there is so little time.  I saw this post on Kellie's page & thought what a great start.

So here goes my list for July

  • Move everything PL/Memory making related to my new "studio'
  • Organise the studio so that it is actually functional
  • Move the computer desk into the new 'office section' so that my family has a proper loungeroom
  • Paint the hutch downstairs & paint with new Annie Sloan chalk paint
  • Update photos around the house
  • Spring clean of the kids toys & clothes
  • At least complete 1 smash book or at least the new mini albums
  • PL catch up
  • Update my ebay store
  • One things I really want to do, even though I know it probably wont happy this month, is to do a little 'no pressure' shoot with the kids. Just for fun
If I do half of these things, I will be happy

Around Here | June 2014

June would have to be my favourite time of the year.  The weather is pleasant which to means we can actually go outside and enjoy life because its not 40 degree.

  • Max & I drove out to Blackwater to watch Mathew play for Crushers for the first time in years.
  • We celebrated Mathews 32nd birthday (so happy we are the same age again for a while)
  • State of Origin time!  NSW has won the series which I am thrilled about - Mathew not so much
  • Max + Harper are in the same swimming class and are really really loving it.  It makes me want to make sure we spend the Summer doing alot of swimming, swimming and more swimming.
  • Mathew took off 2 weeks of Long Service which was awesome and the kids loved having Dad home full time.

Rocky Show | 2014

Its that time of the year again - ROCKY SHOW!

We told Max he could have the day off school as we were going to go on some ride.  While driving the whole 5 mins away, he askes 'aren't we going on a plane Mum?  Arent we going to Brisbane?'  Here he was thinking we would be going to the Gold Coast to go on "rides" haha he has been so lucky to have been to Movie World so many times at his age.

I was really looking forward to it this year especially with Harps being older & being able to enjoy herself more & even go on more rides this year.

Harps was super excited to go!

'The Daggy Dog' challenge was ON!  Mathew & Darryl had a competition to see who could eat the most Daggy Dogs (or pluto pups as I call them)
I think they decided to call it quits after just 2 each lol

I had been dying to get one of these caricatures done of the kids but I never thought they would sit still long enough but they did!  I was so excited... but Max not so much haha his face when he saw he had been drawn as a 'Merman' was priceless.  He wasn't too impressed

Must remember to never shoot from this angle - stupid double chin

I love love love that Max is into his rides & not scared at all.  I thought this was a nice simple rollercoaster (perfect for B) but nope... it spun around.  Mathew wasnt a fan lol

This ride apparently wasnt scary enough for my little man

Finally got Penny in a 'selfie'

Max's favourite ride for the day - the green one with Aunty Chloe!

Another awesome family day.  I love hanging out with the crew.

Around here | May

Wow it has been a while since my last blog but I have really wanted to get on top of the memory keeping.  Life is going by way too fast and I really want to record every moment - while enjoying it of course.

This was definitely the month of sickness in our house.  Especially with Mathew working away it has been tought but we got through it. Every since leaving Airlie Beach it has been non stock doctors appointments, sick days & runny noses.

I love this little outfit I bought from 'The Little Blush'  I swear I spend more $$ on Harps wardroble then I do alone.  I love this photo as she found those 2 little dogs & carried them around with her for days.  She even called them Mia & Winston - such a sweetheart.

Nothing better than a 'Selfie Sunday'

Another day spent resting in Mums bed.  I am all Dr Mctuffin'd out!

If Max would stay in his PJs all day he would be a happy boy.

So awesome to see a smile B's face and to have her back to her old self - we missed her happy face!

I decided on a change - dark again for the cooler months

Max missed his class school photos as he was sick so I had organised for his portrait shot to be shot at another school.  I love these moments when I get one on one time with him.  I love our little chats.

This would have to be one of the best mornings of my life.  All parents were invited to a Mothers Day morning tea at school.  I had no idea what to expect.
I was greeted by Max with a glass of punch and lead to the table where it had the framed photo of him, a questionnaire about me & a handmade necklace.  It was so hard not to get teary.  He was just so excited to have his Mum there and was even more grateful that I am able to got to school things.

"Hey Mum,  this is my exercise shirt"

Peppa Pig who?  Lately its all about Dr Mcstuffin

We have been trying to make eating at the table a regular thing - I think it last one night.

Practicing his letters with Dad.  Love the way his face lights up when he gets it right.
Keep going Maxie!

I found this photo on my phone.  Harps had been playing with the self timer app - love it!

Finally - a proper big girl bed.

Even though this photo is technically April, I still had to share.  I was so happy to get a nice photo of the 4 of us FINALLY! Nothing better than a family vacay to cheer everyone up

Another big thing in May that happened for me personally was just the decision to reevaluate my business Peppermint Lane & it's future.  I am finding it hard to balance the running of the business and with being a Mum, doing housework (my house is a bombsite) and just being able to be more 'present' especially with the kids PLUS all the other things I want to do (project life etc).  I love what I do but being an online business I find that it means you have to be available 24-7 which is a struggle.

I'm not too sure what I have decided but I am thinking a break will be best for know & see what happens.
